Free flu shots at Walmart

Walmart is helping customers and associates live better, healthier lives by making it easier than ever to get vaccinated against the seasonal flu.

Flu shots are now available at the retailer’s 4,700-plus pharmacies nationwide, including at the Seymour store at 1600 E. Tipton St.

In-store events are set there from 7 to 11 a.m. today and from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday. Customers also can come other times to receive a flu shot. Plus, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the store will host a flu shot wellness day.

Walmart’s flu shots are administered by pharmacy staff with no out-of-pocket costs from most major insurance plans.

New this year, the retailer is launching a digital scheduler so customers can book an appointment for a flu shot at any of Walmart’s pharmacies for a fast and efficient visit.

Via the Walmart mobile app, customers can schedule their flu shot appointment prior to heading to the store for their regular grocery shopping trip. Customers will fill out their patient questionnaire online to set up an appointment and make the in-store vaccination process as efficient as possible.

Walk-in appointments also are available. Once at the store, customers will have a COVID-19 screening prior to receiving their flu shot.

Also new this year, Walmart is making sure its 1.5 million associates have access to flu shots with no out-of-pocket costs, regardless of their insurance status, so the country’s largest workforce can stay healthy and continue to serve communities throughout the flu season.
