Get your vehicle washed with donation of food or money

SMX Staff Management is teaming with The Sunflower Studio for a car wash starting at 10 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot at Taco Bell, 1509 E. Tipton St., Seymour.

Those who bring 10 or more nonperishable food items or a monetary donation will have their vehicle washed.

The Sunflower Studio is in need of breakfast bars, oatmeal, cereal, Pop-Tarts, macaroni cheese, SpaghettiOs, ravioli, pasta, pasta sauce and other items that could be packed for a lunch for children in Jackson County.

The nonprofit organization collects food and monetary donations in order to deliver weekend food packs to local kids.

Amy Jackson with The Sunflower Studio hopes this event will raise enough food to supply food donations all winter. She also said she soon will be opening 10 spots for senior citizens to receive food.

Volunteers also are needed to help wash cars. Anyone interested should contact Amy Jackson or Erika Lynn Barger via Facebook.
