Holman breaks Crothersville course mark

Junior Kaylyn Holman set a new girls record for Crothersville’s home cross-country course Thursday with a time for 5 kilometers of 20 minutes, 32 seconds.

Holman had previously tied the old record of 20:46.

The Crothersville girls competed in a meet against Shawe Memorial along with the Tiger boys. 

Crothersville’s David Rose had the fastest time of the day at 18:03. Teammate Elijah Plasse was second in 19:02. Holman recorded the third swiftest time of the day overall.

Sam Fewell (21:29) was Shawe’s fastest runner, third among the boys. Wyatt Lundergan was fourth in 23:32 and Noah Guettig was fifth in 25:53, the other Shawe boys runners. Tim Hodge of Crothersville was sixth in 32:04.

On the girls side, Shawe’s Cal Alderman was second in 22:04, Ella Plasse was third for Crothersville in 26:02, Kiarra Lakins next in 26:21, followed by Kennadi Lakins in 28:14 and Shawe’s Katie Jacobs sixth in 37:18.
