The Crothersville-Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a benefit fish fry from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the fire station, 200 Moore St., Crothersville.

Fish sandwiches will be served in to-go containers for a freewill donation. Cookies and other desserts will be available for purchase, too.

Crothersville FFA also will be frying pork burgers for $4 each. This will be the organization’s first time frying in Crothersville this year, and it has ordered a limited supply of burgers for this event.

Social distancing guidelines will be followed at this event, and face masks are required.

All proceeds will go to help Crothersville Police Department Reserve Officer Michael Weiler, who was injured in a motor vehicle accident while on duty Aug. 14.

Anyone who ordered a 19-6 fundraiser shirt will be able to pick them up between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday at the fire station. A few extra will be on hand to purchase.
