Perceptions Yoga, Mindfulness and Art, a nonprofit in Vernon, is hosting a September art show featuring scenes of Jennings County by Dave Shaw.

The event is open to the public at Perceptions Center for Mindful Practices, 139 E. State Road 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and at the same time Sept. 25.

Shaw is a lifelong resident of Jennings County and owner of Shaw Monuments in Vernon. He mainly works with oil paints to capture familiar landscapes of Jennings County.

“We are especially excited to be able to host Dave’s work during the month of September, especially given that this year’s Vernon Labor Day celebration had to be canceled,” said Charlinda Evans, president of Perceptions.
