Ida Pearl (Whan) Bottorff, age 73, of Medora, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at her residence.

Mrs. Bottorff was a member of First Marion Baptist Church for most of her life.

Ida was a housewife and a Girl Scout leader. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, traveling with her husband, working outside in her flower beds, crocheting, embroidering, and also cooking. Her family always enjoyed all of her holiday meals. She volunteered at Covered Bridge Health Campus helping residents sew quilts, and also helped at 4-H sewing workshops.

Born on July 27, 1947, in Bloom, Kansas, she was the daughter of James Harold and Mary Katherine Benear Whan, both of whom preceded her in death. On November 19, 1971, in Clovis, New Mexico, she married Floyd Bottorff and he survives in Medora.

Survivors also include two sons: Anthony (Britt Plummer) Bottorff and Andrew (Heather Hern) Bottorff; one daughter, Rhonda (Dwayne) Fountain; one brother, Dan (Lenora) Whan; one sister, Kay Mora Lennon; and five grandchildren: Victoria (Mark) Reynolds, Christopher (Malenny) Bottorff, Nick Perez, Olivia Pearl Bottorff and Zoe Fountain.

Mrs. Bottorff was also preceded in death by two brothers: Daniel Ray James and Thomas John Lennon; and one sister, Kathryn Jean Lennon.

Funeral services for Ida Pearl Bottorff will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Michael Hogg officiating. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from noon until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc. will be practicing social distancing according to CDC guidelines. Masks are required when entering the funeral home.

Interment will be at Clearspring Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
