Jackson County Public Library offering September programs online

The Jackson County Public Library is offering online programs for teens and adults in September.

Programs will be posted on the library’s Facebook page with a link to the library’s YouTube channel, which can be viewed at any time. Click the “Subscribe” button on the library’s YouTube channel and the notification bell icon to stay caught up with the library’s virtual programs.

At 2 p.m. Sept. 6, the virtual game show version of “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” will be available.

Knit and Crochet Night will use the Zoom program at 6 p.m. Sept. 10. Register at myjclibrary.org/events to be sent an invitation to this program. Use Zoom from a computer (zoom.us) or download the free app Zoom Cloud Meetings on a phone or tablet from the app store. An email is required for participants to receive a login to the program. If participants do not have an email, they should call 812-523-4636 to request the login.

A video about yarn crafting will be posted to the library’s Facebook page and YouTube channel at 6 p.m. Sept. 24.

The Spilling Ink Writers’ Group will hear about blogging from Information Services Assistant Kathi Linz at 2 p.m. Sept. 12.

Schneck Medical Center Nutrition Services Manager Lesley Kendall will present a healthy cooking demonstration, which will be posted at 6 p.m. Sept. 17.

Andrea Edwards from the Jackson County Clerk’s Office will give information on registering to vote on National Voter Registration Day at noon Sept. 22.

For teens ages 12 to 19, programs will be posted to the library’s Teen Scene Facebook page.

A take-and-make no-sew dice bag will be available for curbside pickup beginning on National Video Games Day, which is Sept. 12. Teen Assistant Hillary Pacheco will offer a video demonstration on how to make the bags at 4 p.m. Sept. 14.

Teens will learn how to make energy bites at 4 p.m. Sept. 21 from Purdue Extension Jackson County Health and Human Sciences Educator Molly Marshall.
