Safety first for hunting and trapping draws

Following COVID-19 safety guidelines developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources on Thursday announced it will conduct draws for Fish and Wildlife hunting and trapping under strict protocols.

Those who wish to visit officials inside a property office or congregate near other people must wear facial coverings, and the department urges anyone who feels sick with coronavirus symptoms to stay home.

In most cases, it is anticipated people applying as part of the draws will be asked to wait outdoors while the process is conducted. The department noted it is likely draws will take longer to complete than they have in the past.

Anyone who feels they do not have the strength to stand and wait for any type of time period is urged to bring his or her own portable lawn chair.

For those interested, information on how draws will be performed at each property can be found at on.in.gov/dwproperties.
