SEYMOUR

Alberta J. Duwe, 97 of Seymour passed away at Lutheran Community Home on March 24, 2020. She was born May 7, 1922 in Seymour, IN to Edward and Edna VonStrohe Jobstvogt. She married Leonard Duwe on June 28, 1942 in Seymour. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2002. She worked as a bookkeeper for Developmental Services, Inc. until retiring in 1977. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She lived in Columbus from 1961 until 1999 before moving back to Seymour.

Alberta is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister, Anna Hehman, brother-in-law, Harold Hehman and niece-in-law, Beth Hehman. Surviving to cherish her memory are her niece and nephews, Donna (Norm) Wesley, Randy Hehman and Kenny (Jan) Hehman as well as several cousins.

Her family extends a heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff at the Lutheran Community Home for the excellent way they cared for Alberta during the last 12 years.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 in the Chapel of Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Philip Bloch officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, IN. Alberta was laid to rest at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus.

Memorials may be given in Alberta’s memory to the Lutheran Community Home or Immanuel Lutheran Church at Burkholder Chapel.
