As Seymour Community School Corp. is back in session for the 2020-2021 school year, the Seymour Police Department will be helping keep children and parents safe.

The Seymour Police Department will be adding officers in the morning during drop-off times and in the afternoon during pickup times.

"The Seymour Police Department is dedicated to making sure everyone gets to and from their destination safely," Public Information Officer Craig Owens said in a news release. "Some schools will have different drop-off and pickup spots, so pay attention as this may congest school zones in the coming week."

Owens said drivers should be aware of children walking to school and expect some congestion and delays in school zones.
