Dan Robison, president of the Seymour Chamber of Commerce, recently completed the Hoosier Chamber Academy course offered by the Indiana Chamber Executives Association.

The program consists of eight modules, including chamber law, finance, board relations, advocacy, membership, non-dues, marketing/communications and strategic planning.

"Participation in the Hoosier Chamber Academy provides core competencies to excel in the ever-changing chamber of commerce profession," said Shelli Williams, president of the ICEA. "Chamber professionals are on the economic front lines for our Indiana communities, and ICEA strives to equip all chamber peers with the resources that they need to excel in this profession."

This was the first year the academy was conducted virtually in its entirety. Class size was limited to 25 peers, and class members were asked to submit resources from their chamber to share with peers as part of the coursework.

Graduates were honored with completion certificates awarded recently at regional workshops throughout the state.
