The Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council and Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office recently recognized Tess A. Carroll as a recipient of the child support KID Award.

Carroll has worked for the Child Support Division of the prosecutor’s office for more than 13 years and performs a variety of tasks relating to the collection and calculation of child support obligations.

The KID (Kudos for Inspiration and Dedication) Award recognizes child support staff who have performed their duties in an exemplary fashion. Carroll is a deserving recipient of the award and a valued member of the support division team in Jackson County, according to a news release from the local office.

August is Indiana Child Support Awareness Month.

The child support program is administered by the Child Support Bureau of the Indiana Department of Child Services. Custodial parties or noncustodial parents may enroll at no cost at their county prosecutor’s office.

The program provides a number of services to assist in getting child support dollars to families, including locating noncustodial parents, establishing paternity, establishing and modifying child support and medical support orders and enforcing payment of child support.

Approximately 250,000 families participate in Indiana’s child support program, but experts estimate that is only half the number of families that could benefit.

For information about the child support program, visit childsupport.in.gov or call the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office Child Support Division at 812-358-6129 or the Kidsline, Indiana’s child support customer service center, at 800-840-8757.
