Arnold F. Fleetwood, age 91, of Kurtz, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.

Mr. Fleetwood attended Kurtz Nazarene Church.

He loved spending time with his family and he always made time for everyone. He also loved horses and was a horse trader from the age of 16, and worked at Cummins Engine Co. for 33 1/2 years. Arnold was a founding member of Owen Township Fire Department and ran Kurtz grocery/hardware store for more than ten years.

Born on July 8, 1929, in Monroe County, he was the son of Clone and Myrtle (Fleetwood) Fleetwood, both of whom preceded him in death.

On November 12, 1947, in Bedford, he married Eva Nilson, and she survives in Brownstown.

Survivors also include two sons: Roy (JoAnna) Fleetwood of Kurtz, and Roger (Donna) Fleetwood of Brownstown; three daughters: Freida (Kenny) Hillenburg of Kurtz, Beverly (William “Bill”) Goss of Sommerville, and Carolyn Canaday of Seymour; two brothers: Donald Fleetwood, and Larry “Denny”(Debbie) Fleetwood; five sisters: Jean Hillebrand, Loretta Fern (Jack) Steele, Ruth Parker, Wanda Mullins, and Debra Otte; 15 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Arnold was also preceded in death by a daughter, Reva June Roberts; one brother, Ray Fleetwood; four brothers-in-law: Kevin Otte, Rodney Hillebrand, Larry Parker, and Wally Mullins; and one sister-in-law, Janet Fleetwood.

Funeral services for Arnold F. Fleetwood will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020, at Kurtz Nazarene Church with Floyd Fisher officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at Kurtz Nazarene Church. Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc. will be practicing social distancing according to CDC guidelines. Masks are required when entering the funeral home.

Interment will be at Kurtz Cemetery.
