CROTHERSVILLE

The first day of school for Crothersville Community School Corp. is Aug. 4.

That’s a day later than originally scheduled.

On Monday morning, the school posted on its Facebook page that the date was changed to allow staff to train on new tools for eLearning and social distancing guidelines.

Teachers are scheduled to have their first day Friday, and they now will have Monday as an extra day to prepare for the new school year, which will start during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Starting Aug. 4, the school doors will open at 7:45 a.m. each day to assist in meeting the requirements for social distancing.

Also Monday, the school posted that online registration is now open, as students have the option to attend classes in person or virtually. The online registration is only for students who were enrolled in the corporation before the 2019-20 school year ended in May.

New students should contact their school building for information on registering.

Whether a student is attending school in person or virtually, he or she must be registered for school.

Students in kindergarten through 12th grade can register through Harmony. School officials say it’s important to complete registration as soon as possible.

Registration will be open for online enrollment through 10 p.m. Wednesday at bit.ly/2CR0dmD. Anyone in need of their login information may contact their school building.

Those who have not set up an online account before or would like a refresher can visit vimeo.com/254365306.

For students choosing to do eLearning, their parents should contact their building by phone or email: 812-793-2051 or [email protected] for the junior-senior high school or 812-793-2622 or [email protected] for the elementary school.
