Jackson County Public Library book discussion groups plan to gather virtually to discuss book themes, writing styles, characters and more in August.
Books are available to borrow at the Seymour, Crothersville and Medora libraries.
The Tuesday Night Book Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Members will discuss their monthly book Aug. 11 in the video chat program Zoom. Information Services Manager Janet Hensen will lead the review of “The Woman’s Hour” by Elaine Weiss. Register at myjclibrary.org/events to be sent an invitation.
The book discussion group at the Crothersville Library, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month, also will meet using Zoom. Members will gather virtually and share thoughts on “Still Alice” by Lisa Genova at 6 p.m. Aug. 19. Register at myjclibrary.org/events to be sent an invitation.
Use Zoom from a computer (zoom.us) or download the free app Zoom Cloud Meetings on a phone or tablet from the app store for either of the above programs. If participants do not have an email, they should call 812-523-4636 in Seymour or 812-793-2927 in Crothersville to request the login.
Book reviews by library staff will be posted on the library’s Facebook page at 11 a.m. Aug. 21 and 5:30 p.m. Aug. 24. Videos are posted with a link to the library’s YouTube channel, which can be accessed at any time.
