Donna Jean Thomas, 86, of Columbus, passed from this life at 8:55 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2020 at Silver Oaks Health Campus.

Mrs. Thomas was born September 24, 1934, in Bartholomew County, the daughter of Irwin and Minnie Klosterman Moorman.

Donna married Ralph E. Thomas June 9, 1957, he preceded her in death August 13, 1992.

She was a life-long member of St. Peter Lutheran Church-Waymansville, Ladies Aide, Adult Fellowship and Jackson Jolly Heimachers Extension Club.

A 4-H leader for many years, she served on the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair Board for 21 years, Bartholomew County Extension Board, 4-H Council and Farm Bureau Board of Directors.

She was the 2002 Rural Service award recipient.

Survivor include her children, Beth A. (Scott) Burbrink, Susan K. (Joe) Arnholt and Max I. (Kelly) Thomas all of Columbus; grandchildren, Emily (Thomas) Nienaber, Katie (fiance, Evan Staley) Burbrink, Conner (fiance, Morgan Blackwood) Arnholt, Kyle Thomas and Jenna Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church-Waymansville with the Rev. Erik Sorenson officiating.

Family and friends may call from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street.

We do ask that visitors follow the social distancing guidelines and recommend that mask are worn once inside the funeral home and church.

Burial will be at St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery-Waymansville.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Bartholomew County 4-H Fair.
