SEYMOUR

Herschel M. Williams, 81, of Seymour, died at 2:13 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Schneck Medical Center. He was born on April 4, 1939 in Tunnelton, IN to the late Clint & Elma Hobson Williams. He was a graduate of Medora High School. Herschel worked as a Supervisor at US Shoe in Crothersville. On May 3, 1993 in Scottsburg, IN, he married Janice L. Harris Williams and she survives in Seymour. He was a member of Tampico Christian Church. Being apart of nature is what Herschel enjoyed the most-he loved fishing and was a member of the Bass Pro Club and enjoyed working in his flowers.

Along with his wife, Herschel is survived by his daughter, Tawana (Jerry) Baker of Medora; 2 step-children, Lori (Greg) Bentley & Chris (Kayla) Darlage both of Seymour; grandchildren, Krista Gumm, Jerrica Wright, Brittany Gasser, Lynnzi Brittain, Derrick Williams, Fayth Burrell, Dustin Williams, Trista Riggs, Bryse Colwell, Andrew & Daniel Jones; 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Dana Jones & a son-in-law, Bill Colwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son-Greg Williams, and a daughter-Pamela Colwell.

Funeral Services for Herschel will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Home with Randy King officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Tampico Christian Church or to Red Sky Rescue.

The family is asking that all visitors please wear a mask while you are the funeral home. Johnson Funeral Home will be practicing social distancing according to the CDC guidelines.
