The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is sponsoring a Family Fun Fishing Day on July 25 at Falls of the Ohio State Park in Clarksville.

The emphasis is on families enjoying the outdoors together and activities to entertain kids as they learn about fishing and water safety.

The 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. event will offer casting challenges with fishing poles, fly tying, a photo scavenger hunt, advice provided by experts, information about fishing regulations and how to identify different types of fish.

Hikes will be led along fossil beds at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and two short fishing-related films will be shown at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

A $2 participation fee is required for the activities, and there is a discounted admission fee to the interpretive center. Adults will be admitted to the park at the child’s price of $7 that day.

Except for the films, all activities will take place outdoors. COVID-19 social distancing guidelines and other safety guidelines will be in place.

There is a $2 parking fee at the interpretive center.
