Mr. Ray “Bud” Lutes, 86 of Seymour passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Majestic Care of North Vernon.

Ray was born in Jennings County, Indiana on April 23, 1934 the son of the late John E. and Elizabeth Kerkhof Lutes.

Bud had attended Reddington Christian Church in his early years and then joined the Hayden Baptist Church in Hayden, Indiana. He was a member Hayden Historical Museum. He enjoyed cutting wood with his wife and mowing the grass.

Bud enjoyed showing his purebred Duroc hogs, which he showed at the local fairs. He liked watching the Kentucky Derby, Lawrence Welk Show, Bob Ross Painting Show and Nascar.

He attended School in Scipio. On September 28, 1957 he married Jennie Bowman in Austin, Indiana.

Ray will be greatly missed by his wife Jennie, Children: Rita Lutes, Doyle Lutes and Daryl Lutes.

He is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Dale Lutes and 2 sisters June Voge and Laura Snyder.

Funeral service for Mr. Lutes will be conducted at Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Thursday, July 16 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Mark Sorrells officiating.

Family and friends may gather at Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday, July 15 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday after 9:00 a.m. until time of service. (Per COVID19 pandemic Voss Funeral Service requires mask and social distancing inside our facility, for the safety of our staff and our families.)

Christian Burial will be at the Reddington Cemetery following the funeral.

Memorials may be designated to the Hayden Baptist Church or the Hayden Historical Museum.
