Mr. Gregory A. Bedel, 68, passed away Friday, July 3, 2020 at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital. He was born in 1951 in Seymour to parents Luther and Thelma Joan (Hinton) Bedel. On June 21, 1986 he married Rosie (Bradley) Bedel at White Creek Methodist Church.

Greg owned and operated Bedels Transmissions in Seymour for 32 years. He built transmissions for over 40 years. Greg was a member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, the VFW and the Eagles.

He enjoyed traveling out west in his camper and especially loved to take a yearly trip to Cancun, Mexico. He took great delight in boating and camping at Hardy Lake for many years. He enjoyed driving around in his 1937 Ford Coupe and loved going to the National Street Rod Show in Louisville, Kentucky. Greg enjoyed watching Nascar and football and especially loved his furry little pal, Rascal. He was a loving and devoted husband to Rosie and will be missed by many.

Greg is survived by his wife, Rosie; his daughter, Shelly Johnson; grandchild, Greg Hunsucker; sisters, Carol (Cooney) Barger and Lucinda (Alvin) Killey; brother, Kevin Bedel; brother-in-law Don (Barbara) Bradley; sisters-in-law, Barbara Thomas, Kate (Jack) Freese, and Dosha (Jerry) Asche.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Thelma Joan.

Funeral services will be held at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 10:00 with Pastor Doran Chambers officiating. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Voss & Sons Funeral Service and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Cemetery. Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, facemasks are required in the funeral home and we ask that social distancing is observed.

Memorials in honor of Greg may be given to the American Heart Association in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
