Mayor Matt Nicholson and the Seymour Parks and Recreation Department invite the public to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony of Seymour’s newest park, Burkhart Plaza, at 11 a.m. July 16.

The park at 101 S. Chestnut St. was completed in cooperation with Seymour Main Street and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.

The park is named in honor of former Seymour Mayor John Burkhart, who led the city from 1990 to 2003. He died at the age of 80 on Dec. 13, 2019.
