The Jackson County History Center’s genealogy library is open for research two days a week.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, and the rest of the history center buildings at 105 N. Sugar St., Brownstown, will remain closed.

Due to regulations concerning safety issues, the genealogy library is open by appointment only. There are four spots available for research, and everyone must practice social distancing. To schedule a time for research, call 812-358-2118.

Center officials hope the plan will only be for the next two weeks. Then the plan will be to return to the normal time and regular work schedule. The plan, however, is subject to change according to the state rules.
