Rock’n Ready school supply collection program begins

Now that registration for the Rock’n Ready program is well underway, Jackson County United Way has shifted its focus to collecting school supplies.

The program served more than 1,000 students in 2019, and an increase of 25% is expected this year.

Items being sought include crayons, colored pencils, dry erase markers, composition notebooks, college and wide-ruled spiral notebooks, loose leaf paper, two-pocket folders, highlighters, glue sticks and blunt- and sharp-edged scissors.

An Amazon wish list of the most needed items is available at jacsy.org.

Supplies can be dropped off during normal business hours at The Peoples Bank locations in Seymour, Crothersville and Brownstown and Beacon Credit Union, German American Bank, Shoe Sensation and The Tribune in Seymour.

Items will be collected until July 15. Anyone who would like to be a sponsor for the program can email Emily Engelking at [email protected].
