Mrs. Rosita E. Vires, 79, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Seymour Crossing. She was born in Greenfield, Indiana to the late Harvey and Katherine Gates.

Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday, June 18 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Hyer officiating. Burial will follow at Reddington Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 national health emergency, masks are mandatory within the funeral home.

Rosita was a member of Redemption Pentecostal Church. In April 1959, Rosita married James Vires. She had been employed as a security officer with Cummins. Rosita enjoyed being outdoors and in nature. She had a “Servant’s Heart” and loved to serve the Lord as a Sunday School teacher and worshipping in Church.

Rosita is survived by her children, Belinda Rankin (Ramona), Angela Smith (Hiram), Kevin Vires (Betzi); 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and sister, Maranna Barber.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-parents; husband; brothers, Donald Gates and David Gates; and sister, Wanda McCombs.
