Man arrested for neglect of dependent causing death

A Seymour man was arrested earlier today for neglect of dependent causing death.

Joseph Michael Scott, 31, is being charged with a level one felony as a result of the incident, which happened on March 27.

A warrant for Scott’s arrest was issued earlier today by Jackson Circuit Judge Richard W. Poynter.

Scott was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 4:53 p.m.

No details are available about the incident at this time.

A level one felony carries a sentence of 20 to 40 years in prison, with an advisory sentence of 30 years.
