Time and location of free meal site changed

Feeding Seymour has changed its time and location for the remainder of the month.

Free hot meals will now be served from 5:40 to 6:30 p.m. every day in the parking lot between Sunshine Cafe and Taco Bell east of Interstate 65 in Seymour. That’s where Double Down Outreach used to serve its weekly meals.

It’s open to any Jackson County resident in need of a meal or other assistance, and there are no income guidelines or housing requirements, just food for the belly, said Karen Browning, executive director of Waymaker Ministries Inc.

Anyone interested in sponsoring the cost of a meal and/or volunteer to serve can email John Cord at [email protected].

Make a tax-deductible donation by sending a check to Waymaker, P.O. Box 189, Seymour, IN 47274 with Feeding Seymour in the memo or go online to paypal.me/waymaker2019 or Venmo under Waymaker-Ministries. For every $3 donated, a meal is provided to someone in need.

The effort is a collaboration between Double Down Outreach, Community Diner of Seymour, The Alley, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Central Christian Church, St. Ambrose Catholic Church, First Presbyterian Church and Knights of Columbus Council 1252 in cooperation with the city of Seymour.
