BROWNSTOWN

Anna L. (Farmer) Richard, 89, of Brownstown, passed away Friday, May 29, 2020, at Seymour Crossing. Anna was born April 28, 1931, in Chevrolet, Harlan County, Kentucky to the late Estill and Arta (Fee) Farmer.

She was a proud 1950 graduate of Medora High School and attended the reunion banquet at every opportunity.

She married Bryce Richard on July 7, 1951, who preceded her in death.

She was a devoted IU basketball fan, Yahtzee champion of the family, and she loved crossword puzzles, movies with a message, country music, and her friends and family. She was a member of the Brownstown Community Church.

She retired in 1996 from Aisin USA, and then promptly got a part-time job delivering meals for the Brownstown Senior Citizens Center, which she held for the next seventeen years, retiring at 83.

She is survived by her children: Mark A. (Patricia) Richard, Carol (Tom) Oswald, Joy (Mark) Warren, Barbara (Nancy) Richard; fourteen grandchildren: Billy, Jake, Nick, Jimmy, Max, Gordon, James, Kristin (Brandon), Harry, Charlie, Jenna, Phineas, Ava, and Jed; two great-grandchildren: Nash and Hayes; and one sister, Mildred (George) Foster.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Donna, and her siblings Faye, Ray, Cecil, Bill, Carrie, and Jim.

Funeral services for Anna L. Richard will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown, with Pastor Terry Fordice officiating. The family asks if you plan to attend that you please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Brownstown Senior Citizens Center through Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown.
