Rumpke earns U.S. Best Managed Companies award

Rumpke Waste and Recycling has been named one of the 2020 U.S. Best Managed Companies.

The award, sponsored by Deloitte Private and The Wall Street Journal, recognizes the best managed private companies in the country.

Rumpke was nominated for the award and then participated in a rigorous application process that included an independent evaluation of four key management skills: Strategy, execution, culture and financials.

Representing its successes well, Rumpke is one of 27 honorees from across the Unites States representing a variety of industries.

The Best Managed Companies program is a mark of excellence for private companies. U.S. designees have annual revenues of at least $250 million. Hundreds of private companies around the world have competed for this designation.

Cincinnati-based, Rumpke Waste and Recycling is one of the largest family owned waste and recycling firms in the country. The firm employs 3,200 people and provides residential, commercial and industrial waste and recycling services to millions of customers throughout Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia.

Rumpke owns or operates 14 landfills and 11 recycling facilities, including a location in Medora.

In all, Rumpke maintains a fleet of about 1,900 vehicles and has 60 locations. Total revenues topped $694 million in 2019.
