SEYMOUR

Bradley Allen Proffet, 72, of Seymour, passed away March 29, 2020, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Bradley was born in 1947 in Saluda, Indiana, to Luther and Edith Proffet. He was a 1965 graduate of Southwestern High School in Hanover and a 1969 graduate of Hanover College. He married Bonnie Marie Steward on Dec. 27, 1968, in Madison. He worked at H.O. Canfield/Pantasote from 1969 until his retirement in 1990.

Bradley was honest, curious, loyal and opinionated, traits he instilled in his sons, Brian and Andy. He applied his curiosity to a number of hobbies over his life, including photography and clock making. He also enjoyed – some might say, insisted on – doing his own vehicle and household repairs. Bradley found a perfect partner in Bonnie, whose sense of humor matched his own: on one of their first dates, they saw a sign which read “Lots for sale,” which prompted them to jokingly say at the same time, “Lots of what?”

Bradley was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Edith, and a brother, Martin. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; sons, Brian and his wife, Pam, and Andy and his wife, Bessie; and grandson, Christopher and his girlfriend, Megan Longelin.
