GRETNA, VA

Lyn Allen Brumfield, age 64 of Gretna died Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at his residence.

Born June 9, 1955 in Lynchburg, he was a son of Marvin Brumfield and Rebecca Murphy Brumfield of Hurt. He was predeceased by a nephew, Chris Smith. Lyn was a member of Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church and he was the owner of Expedited Trucking Company. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, farming and horses, especially Percheron horses.

In addition to his parents he is survived by one son, Todd Brumfield and wife, Katie of Freetown, IN; one brother, Troy Brumfield and wife, Beth of Brookneal; one sister, Joan Smith of Gretna; three grandchildren, Jake, Lena and Alaina; special friend, Ginger Davis of Gretna; and nieces and nephews, Heather Boyle, Kelly Garbee and Dustin Brumfield.

Graveside services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2020 at Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery by Elder Raymond Goad, Elder Jimmy Gray and Elder Marvin Brumfield.

The family will receive friends at the residence of his sister, Joan Smith.
