The Seymour Chamber of Commerce has launched the Jackson County Business Economic Recovery Team to assist and support businesses throughout the current COVID-19 crisis.

The BERT leadership group will be comprised of government, business and professional organization representatives from throughout Jackson County. The group will serve as a single resource of information, support and resources for local businesses that have experienced negative impacts due to the crisis.

Chamber President Dan Robison said the COVID-19 event is primarily a health crisis at this stage, but local businesses already are experiencing significant negative pressure.

"Those drags on businesses will continue to linger and even compound long after the public health crisis subsides," he said. "We want to ensure Jackson County businesses have access to all of the resources, grants and other funding opportunities that will be available to aid in their recovery."
