Mr. Dennis Durkoop, 100, of Seymour, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Covered Bridge Health Campus. He was born in Seattle, Washington to the late Chris Henry and Anna Mary (Baker) Durkoop.

Graveside services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Fairview Cemetery on Saturday, March 21 at 10:30 a.m. with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Mr. Durkoop served in the Army Air Force during WWII and later attended Butler University from 1947-1950. He was employed with Prudential Insurance Company from 1950-1980. Mr. Durkoop served Seymour, Crothersville and Austin residents for 30 years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church since 1947 and served on the Board of Trustee and Board of Deacons. He served on the Counting Committee for several years and was a member of Agoga Sunday School Class. Mr. Durkoop was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Seymour.

On March 11, 1944, at First Baptist Church, Dennis married Anna “Anne” Lee McCrary; she preceded him in death on August 30, 1995. He later married Virginia Durkoop and she also preceded him in death.

Mr. Durkoop is survived by his nieces and nephews, James Fox, Betsy Fleetwood, Jackie Hoevener, David Durkoop, Tim Rucker, John Fox and James Durkoop.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first and second wives; and brothers, Henry Charles and Francis Alfred Durkoop.
