Brownstown Central High School senior Lauren Wood recently received the Brownstown Exchange Club’s February Youth of the Month award.

Wood, the daughter of Scott and Jackie Wood, received the award from Kevin Gwin during a club meeting. Gwin, a teacher at the high school, is a member of the club’s youth of the month committee.

At school, she is a member of the Brownstown Central High School choir and musical group, Social Studies Academic Super Bowl team and National Honor Society.

Wood attends Driftwood Christian Church and is a member of the youth group. She also is a 4-H club member.

She plans to attend Purdue University to study pharmacology.
