FREETOWN

William Dale “Bill” Nowland, 40 of Freetown, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born September 18, 1979 in Seymour, Indiana to Robert Dale and Roberta Joann Knott Nowland.

Bill graduated from Seymour High School. He worked at Cummins for almost 20 years before becoming a stay at home dad, which he loved. He was a Mason and a member of Seymour Christian Church. Bill enjoyed decorating for Christmas, collecting toy tractors and Nascar. He loved being outdoors, playing on playgrounds with his girls and looking at farm equipment and old trucks. He will always be remembered for being a devoted husband and father, for his great sense of humor and willingness to try anything once.

Bill is preceded in death by his father, his maternal grandparents, Joe and Genevieve Knott, and his paternal grandparents, Dave and Kathryn Nowland.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Dana Jo Spencer Nowland, daughters, Mattie, Alice and Rosella, mother, Joann Nowland, sister, Bobbi (Ed) Sides, father and mother-in-law, Ron and Pam Spencer, sister and brother-in-law, Karen (Chad) Browning, brother-in-law, Jason Spencer, brother and sister-in-law, Ben (Nicole) Spencer, and nieces and nephews, Andre, Arianna, Danika, Brayden, Isaac and Ellie.

Friends may gather with Bill’s family from 10 a.m. to service time at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Seymour Christian Church, 915 Kasting Road, Seymour, IN 47274 with Pastor Andy Schroeder officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut St., Seymour, IN 47274. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
