Mrs. Christine Howard Oathout, affectionately known to her family as “Cricket”, 85, of Seymour, passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at home surrounded by her son and daughters. She was born in Kentucky to the late Jacob and Viola (Baker) Howard.

Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday, February 29 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tim Lichtley officiating. Burial will follow at Acme Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Friday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.

On August 9, 1985, Christine married Raymond N. Oathout, Sr.; he preceded her in death on January 14, 2004. She was a nurse’s assistant for 29 years and was employed with Jackson Park Nursing Home. Chris was a member of the Brownstown Church of the Nazarene, where she enjoyed Sunday school and being in God’s Word. Chris loved spending time with her family who were her treasure on earth. She was a selfless, giving person who always put the needs of her children before her own.

Christine is survived by her children, Linda Lucas, Everett Osborne, Donna (Jeff) Russell, Andy (Becky) Morris; grandchildren, Travis Lucas, Jessica Tomlinson, Ashleigh Russell, Jackson Morris, Carter Morris; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Lucas-Lockhart, Bradley Homeniuk, Makaila Tomlinson, Madison Tomlinson, Lillian Tomlinson, Trinity Easley, Alex Easley, Rian Freeman; great-great-grandchildren, Gannon and Guage Lucas; brother, Jessie (Tammy) Howard; sisters, Jane Garrett, Mary Jewell (Jerry) Dendekker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandsons, Ricky Russell, Jeffry Russell, Jr.; great-grandson, Colin Tomlinson; great-great-granddaughter, Macy Lucas; brothers, Matthew Howard, Homer Howard, David Howard; sisters, Irma Turpin and Ruth Ann Howard.
