Carolyn Faye (Shelton) Cornett Dick, age 70, a native of Clay County, Tennessee and a resident of Brownstown, Indiana passed away on Tuesday February 18, 2020 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Ellen (Carter) Shelton of Brownstown, Indiana. Carolyn was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Brownstown, Indiana for over 14 years. She will forever be remembered as an intelligent, witty, and sharp lady that loved life and her family. She loved to read, especially Amish romance and history books. The family fondly remembers her cooking; beans and corn bread and chicken gumbo being favorites.

She is survived by her mother; three daughters, Barbara Vojkufka and her husband Lonnie of Crothersville, Tammy Temple and her husband Brian and Waneta Hanner both of Brownstown; two brothers, Robert Shelton, David Shelton and his wife Belinda both of Brownstown, Indiana; four sisters, Marie Klimczewski of Vallonia, Robbi Jaynes and her husband Michael of Seymour, Brenda Wheeler of Brownstown, and Sheila Bennett and her husband Edward “Buck” of Brownstown; six grandsons, Justin Cornett, Jason Cornett, Caleb Cornett whom she loved and raised as her very own son, Harold Temple, Johnathan Temple and Andrew Vojkufka; two granddaughters, Emily Vojkufka and Brianna Temple; one great- grandson, Carson Cornett and one great-granddaughter, Sophia Cornett.

She was preceded in death by her father, her first husband of 22 years James Cornett; her second husband of 11 years Fred Dick; her son, Dannie Cornett and her grandson Jeremy Cornett.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre with the Rev. Ron Cox officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the funeral home and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
