BROWNSTOWN

Mrs. Eunice W. Lutes, 84, of Brownstown, passed away Saturday February 15, 2020. She was born in Jackson County on January 22, 1936 to Harold L. and Lona A. E. (Hehman) Otte.

Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers on Wednesday February 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Borchers.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday February 18, 2020 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday February 19, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.

On August 31, 1956, in Seymour, IN, she married Thurman Woodrow Lutes who preceded her in death on March 16, 2011.

Eunice was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers, where she sang in the choir for several years. She graduated from Cortland High in 1954 having attended grade school and high school without a single absence. Eunice had been employed at the shirt factory, Rose Acres, the telephone company and had sold Avon for 45 years. She was a member of the Borchers Breakfast Club, a former member of the ABC Home Economics Club, a member of the Avon Honor Society, and the Lutheran League. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed pillows for the residents of Hoosier Christian Village as well as doing lovely embroidery work. Eunice really enjoyed homemaking and especially liked baby sitting for the neighborhood children and cooking special meals for them. Many hearts will miss her giving heart.

She is survived by her children, Timothy W. (Nancy) Lutes, Michele K. (Layton) Lutes Hill,; grandchildren, Amanda (Aaron) Cash, Matthew Lutes, Todd Lutes, Carrie Pumphrey (Kenny), Jackie (J. R.) Davenport; great grandchildren, Kylee Lutes, Tyler Lutes, Brianna Cash, Brayden Cash, Kolby & J.R. (RW) Davenport III, Dakota Martin, and another great-grandson that will arrive in June; brothers Alvin Otte, Merrell Otte, Lester (Marsha) Otte, Dennis (Vickey) Otte; sister Marlis (Bill) Kidd; and sisters-in-law Florence Otte, and Zelpha Otte.

Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Kitturah A. Lutes Weddle; great-grand son baby Kenny Pumphrey; brothers, Gerald Otte and Harlan Otte; and sister-in-law, Sara Otte.
