Applications for Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers will be accepted beginning March 2 at Seymour City Hall, 301-309 N. Chestnut St.

Applicants must apply in person and enter through the side entrance on the north side of the building next to the post office. People are asked to not form a line prior to 7 a.m. Any person found littering or causing a disturbance will be asked to leave the premises immediately.

Hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.

Income is not required to apply for assistance; however, if applicants have a source of income such as Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, child support, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, employment or retirement pension, they must provide written third-party verification of income. If you have income and do not bring verification with you, your application will not be accepted until the income verification is provided.

Applications will be added to the waiting list according to individual information listed on the application. Date and time will be considered; however, the first application taken may not be the first name added to the waiting list. Local preferences will determine placement on waiting list, not date or time.
