Mr. Robert L. Smith, 90, of Seymour, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020 at Schneck Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born in Jennings County to the late Randolph J. and Luna Reed Smith.

Funeral services will be held at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on with Friday, February 14 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Allen White officiating. Burial will follow with full military graveside conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 12 noon until time of service.

In 1964 Robert Smith married Virginia “Ginny” Smith at Seymour Christ Temple. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Moose Lodge 418, VFW Post 1925 and American Legion 89. He served in the United States Army. He attended Cortland Christian Church. Robert retired from Cummins Engine Co.

Robert is survived by his children, Bobbie (Herky) Brenner, Jeff (Diane) Smith, Patty Jo (Chan) Ferriera; grandchildren, Linda Garrett, Teresa Coons, William Coons, Gretchen Brenner Davis, Cory Brenner, Ben Smith, Leah Perky, Mason Killion, Jessica Jones, Tyler Holt, Manda Holt, Patrick Fitch, Stephanie Jones: several great grandchildren; brother, Edward (Carrie) Smith; and companion, Beverly Findley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughters, Rebecca Coons, Joyce Fitch; son, Tommy Foster; brothers, Ernest Smith, Farrell Smith, Orville Scott, Randolph Smith; and sisters, Erma Smith Sutton, Helen Johnson Maxwell, Lela Curry, Margaret Marling, Dorothy Storey.
