LAND O LAKES, FLORIDA

Lorene Findley Myers, 99, of Land O Lakes, FL, formerly of Seymour, IN; passed away January 19, 2020. She was born May 6, 1920 in Jackson County, IN to Everett and Iva Clark Findley.

Lorene attended Cortland High School. She took classes at Indiana University during her adult years.

On September 3, 1937, she married Delbert H. Myers, who preceded her in death on January 31, 1984. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene (now The Point) in Seymour. She is a past member of the Seymour Country Club, local Writer’s Guild, and 4-H Club Leader.

Lorene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Bertha Prewitt, her twin sister, Irene Hudson, her brothers, Bill and Guy Martin Findley and her great-grandson, Alex Barkes.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her 3 children, Janet Barkes of Seymour, Dennis Myers of Houston, TX and Sue E. (Lon) Williams of Land O Lakes, FL, five grandchildren, Curtis A. (Carol) Barkes of Columbus, IN, Catherine Bowie of Indianapolis, IN, Brent Williams of Land O Lakes, FL, Brian (Janna) Williams of Milledgeville, GA, and Brandon (Bethany) Williams of Oregon, OH, eleven great-grandchildren, Cara Foyles, Clayton Bowie, Jackie Bowie, Cade, Conner, Cody, Ellis, Cole, Keenan, Camden and Corban Williams, and one great-great-grandson, Christian Foyles

Visitation for Lorene will be at Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, IN on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 10 a.m. until the service at 12 Noon. Her grandson, Rev. Brandon Williams will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to The Point and Alzheimer’s Association.
