AUSTIN

John David “Dave” Henson, age 63, of Austin, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at his residence with his wife by his side.

Mr. Henson retired as a molding specialist from Valeo after 36 years of employment. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and also loved camping, fishing, being outdoors, riding horses, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Born on March 4, 1956, in Seymour, he was the son of Lloyd and Janice Kaye Hillenburg Henson. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Norman. On July 18, 1989, in Louisville, Kentucky, he married Terri Angela “Angie” Reedy and she survives in Austin.

Survivors also include one son, Joshua David (Rachael) Henson of Crothersville; three daughters: Brittany Michelle Henson of Austin, Melissa Henson Holbrook of Columbus, and Katrena (Weston) Haney of Seymour; two sisters: Penny (Bill) Wilson of Norman, and Keela (Charlie) Bannister of Norman; eight grandchildren: Kasey Patterson, Sierra Cissell, Wyatt Boling, Jace Henson, Ethan Holbrook, Logan Holbrook, Isaiah Holbrook, and Braelyn Olvlo; and brother-in-law, Brian Ferguson.

Besides his father, Dave was also preceded in death by one sister, Robin Ferguson; and one brother, Roger Henson.

Funeral services for John David “Dave” Henson will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 20, 2020, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Jay Stephens officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
