BROWNSTOWN

Charles I. Hutchinson, age 80, of Brownstown, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Mr. Hutchinson was a member Ratliff Grove Christian Church.

Charles was in the Air Force from 1957 to 1961. He retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1986 after 30 plus years of service.

Born on July 8, 1939, in Seymour at Schneck Medical Center, he was the son of Cleatus and Audry Hubbard Hutchinson, both of whom preceded him in death.

On July 1, 1972, he married a wonderful woman, Shirley Keithley, and she survives in Brownstown.

He loved making all types of woodwork for his family and friends, dirt track racing, camping with his wife, hunting and fishing, and playing Yahtzee.

Survivors also include one son: Ronald (Dena) Hutchinson of Brownstown; two step-daughters: Carleeta (Dennis) Wilson of Seymour, and Michelle (Randy) Turmail of Vallonia; five grandchildren: Leslie (William) Holder, Jesse (Kristi) Hutchinson, Rachel (D.J.) Rouse, Tessa (Brad) Ray, and Ethan (Kacey) Wilson; eleven great-grandchildren: Isaac, Eli, Ian, and Owen Hutchinson; Remy and Mack Ray; Henry and Conner Rouse; Liam and Charlotte Holder; and Lyndi Wilson; one brother-in-law, Albert Unversaw; and one sister-in-law, Polly Hutchinson.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters: Eula Unversaw and Una Johnson; and two brothers: Ronald Hutchinson and Joe Hutchinson.

Funeral services for Charles I. Hutchinson will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2019, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor David Sawyers officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2019, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown.

Memorials may be given to Schneck Hospice or Donor’s Choice.
