CROTHERSVILLE
Francis D. “Fran” Schill, 81, a lifelong resident of Crothersville, IN , passed away at 8:50 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2019 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, IN.
Fran was born Saturday, February 19, 1938 in Crothersville, IN, he was the son of Lawrence Ray “Lab” Schill and Dorothy (Robbins) Schill, who are both deceased.
Fran was a Crothersville High School graduate, a Franklin College graduate, and earned his Master’s Degree from Indiana University.
On August 30, 1957 in Seymour, IN, he married Caroline Sue (Sutton) Schill, who survives in Crothersville, IN.
Fran worked in education for 30 years, 24 of those years were served at Crothersville and the last 9 years he was the principal. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Indiana Association of School Principals, served for 8 years on the Board of Trustees at Crothersville Community Schools, a member of First Baptist Church of Crothersville, and VFW Men’s Auxiliary Post #1083. Fran was a recent inductee of the Crothersville Athletic Hall of Fame.
Other survivors include, 2 daughters, Linda (Mark) Luedeman and Jana K. Schill, both of Crothersville, IN, 2 grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica) Lanning of Crothersville, IN and Erin (Clint) Rudolph of Freetown, IN, 5 step grandchildren, Hank Conner of Austin, IN, Trina (Marty) Hoevener of Crothersville, IN, Paula (Toby) Ortman of Crothersville, IN, David (Tiffany) Luedeman of Austin, IN, and Jon (Jessica) Luedeman of Crothersville, IN, 3 great grandchildren, Katrina Christian, Ethan Lanning, and Sophia Rudolph, and 17 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Alton “Sonny” Schill, Robert Schill, Ricky Schill and Denny Schill.
Reverend David Schill will conduct funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville, with burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., all at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville.
