Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb is directing flags in Seymour and Jackson County to be flown at half-staff to honor former Seymour Mayor John Steele Burkhart.

Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on the day of his funeral, Wednesday.

Holcomb also asks businesses and residents in Seymour and Jackson County to lower their flags to half-staff Wednesday to honor Burkhart, who died Friday, and his service.
