SEYMOUR

Mr. Matthew L. Pollert, 52 of Seymour, passed away peacefully with his mother and his two sisters by his side at the Lutheran Community Home on Saturday, December 14, 2019.

Born October 18, 1967, in Seymour, he was the son of the late Clarence and Karen (Hess) Pollert, who survives in Seymour.

His love of swimming started at an early age and he had a successful high school swim career. Matt worked for Big Blue after high school as a store manager.

Matt loved music. He had written music and played in several bands. Matt lived in California for approximately 12 years and enjoyed the music, culture and lifestyle that California afforded him. He returned to Indiana to be near family as his MS progressed. Matt was lovingly cared for by many of the Lutheran Community staff and his family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for all their love and care.

He is survived by his mother; children: Skylar Muncy and Elijah Jackson-Pollert; sisters: Lori (Tim) Pollert-Brady, and Paige (Jim) Hoffman; aunts: Millie Otte, and Pam (Dan) Hess-Baker, Gladys Pollert, and Mabel Pollert; nieces: Mackenzie (Nick) Eddy, Mia (Jacob) McCall, Kennedy Hoffman and Betsy Hess; nephews: T.J. Brady and Ian Brady; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and sister Cathy Pollert-Klaes, and C.B. Hess.

Funeral services will be held at Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday, December 17th.at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Ralph Blomenberg officiating

Burial will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may call at Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday after 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Memorials may be written to Lutheran Community Home or the C.B. Hess 4-H Scholarship Fund.
