Jackson County Head Start’s annual Christmas party will be at 6 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church, 201 E. Third St., Seymour.

Members of Jackson County American Bikers Aimed Toward Education help with the annual event by purchasing gifts for the 3-, 4- and 5-year-olds who participate in Head Start along with their siblings.

The chapter also provides each child with a stocking stuffed with candy and fruit. Santa stops by to visit with the children and distribute the presents.

The ABATE chapter has been providing the gifts for 40 years. The chapter’s annual Shari Stahl Memorial Toy Run raises money to purchase the gifts for the party, and chapter members spend a night shopping for age-appropriate presents each year.
