Annual Ladies Christmas Tea planned at Seymour church

The eighth annual Redeemer Lutheran Church Ladies Christmas Tea will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the church, 504 N. Walnut St., Seymour.

The first tea was conducted in 2010 to help support the missions of Redeemer Lutheran Church. The teas currently support Heart-4-Haiti, 4KenyasKids and Crosslife Ministries.

The focus of the tea is to put the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus, in the hearts of those who attend. As the date is at the beginning of Advent, it highlights the reason for the season in a Christian perspective.

The tea consists of a Christ-centered program, readings and songs, a meal, door prizes and a drawing for a handmade quilt.

This year’s theme is "Mary Ponders." The story setting is when Jesus turns 30 years old getting ready to leave Nazareth. Mary reflects on Jesus’ birth and the unusual things that happened.

The public is invited to come and hear the holy Christmas story in word, songs and mime scenes.

Tickets are $15. For tickets or information, contact Katrina Miller at 812-522-8693 or the church office at 812-522-1837.
