Roger Jaynes, 79, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at his residence in Franklin.

He was born on February 9, 1940 in Seymour, Indiana to Clarice (Ferguson) Black and Albert “Buck” Jaynes.

Roger married Rita (Adkins) Jaynes. She lovingly survives.

Also surviving is a son, Kevin Jaynes; two daughters, Debbie Jaynes and Lisa Miller; two step-sons, Barry Chandler and Shawn Chandler; two brothers, Donald (Sharon) Black and Denny (Elvira) Black and his sister, Linda Black; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nine nieces and nephews and his loving dog, Grady.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; daughter, Teresa Jaynes; sister, Sharon Kay Jaynes; first wife, Betty Jaynes and step-father, Donald “Tince” Black.

Roger attended Seymour and Hayden Schools. He retired after twenty-eight years of service from IMI Concrete Company. He co-owned and operated R&R Concessions along with his wife Rita at Bargersville Flea Market where they served food for seventeen years but was in the business for nineteen years.

He also served food for Findley Auctioneers, Antique Tractor and Machining Shows (which he was a lifetime member) and at Holiday Festivals around Johnson County. He attended Apostolic Gospel Church in Franklin.

Rev. John Stephenson will conduct a celebration of Roger’s life on Saturday, November 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call on Friday, November 22 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
