Mrs. Dorene G. (Vogel) Maschino, 79, of North Vernon, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Lutheran Community Home following a brief bout with cancer. She was born in Four Corners Jennings County to Albert and Ethel (Maschino) Vogel, both who preceded her in death.

Funeral Mass will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at St. Joseph Catholic Church Four Corners on Thursday, November 14 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Jerry Byrd officiating assisted by Deacon Larry French. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Four Corners.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9-10 a.m. A Rosary service will be conducted Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

On August 6, 1960, she married Amos Maschino; he preceded her in death on August 12, 2018. Dorene was a lifetime member at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and a Rosary Society member where she donated her time and talents of quilting and baking.

Dorene was one foxy lady who took static from no one. She worked alongside Amos running a dairy and grain farm in Hayden where they raised their 8 children. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, embroidery, baking, canning and rocking babies. Dorene was best known for her pies, her ability to make anything grow with her green thumb, and her warm smile.

Dorene is survived by their eight children, Annette (Mike) Pollert, Vicki (Tom) Joslin, Peggy (Roberto) Garcia, Jeff (Diane) Maschino, Kathy (Tracy) Wehmiller, Tim (Sandy) Maschino, John (Missi) Maschino, Amy (Greg) Densborn; 24 grandchildren including 15 granddaughters and 9 grandsons; and 5 great-grandchildren, 3 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons. She is also survived by her brothers Clarence (Mary Jane) Vogel, Gilbert (Joyce) Vogel, and Melvin (Becky) Vogel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband.
