Jackson County Community Theater is hosting a free theater education and discussion event at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Royal Off-the-Square Theatre, 121 W. Walnut St., Brownstown.

Professional makeup artist Julie Powers will share her adventures in film and live theater. She has performed as a cast member at Conner Prairie and Footlite Musicals, co-owned a theater in Nashville, sung with the Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra and worked in the film industry as a makeup artist.

The free TED talk is a unique opportunity to learn about theater-related topics. The speaker will allow time for questions from the audience following the presentation. Light refreshments will be served, and a freewill offering will be collected for JCCT’s 50th season fund drive.
